four

(that was then)
Everyone always told us it (marriage) just gets better. Well they aren't kidding! Thanks to four fun adventurous years baby! I love you! I can't wait to see what the next four brings us! To celebrate we first we went to dinner, then up to Snowbird for the night. We hung out at Oktoberfest, went in the hot tub, watched Lost, went to Sunday brunch, rode the tram up to the top of the mountain & rode the chair lift back down. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend or a better husband! I got lucky!
(this is now)
Not that I am a marriage expert by any means, but the one thing that I always tell my friends who are getting married is to never stop having fun together!! Don't let life's everyday little things get in the way! Jordan and I constantly have fun & we love it!!

Summer Slipped By

Summer slipped by us, but all is well. So much to update and not sure where to start.
We have no complaints (wants, but no complaints)! Life is great!
We went to the Greek Festival w/good friends this weekend. We always look forward to the yummy food.
We love the fall & can't wait to go up to Logan in a couple of weeks for the BYU/USU game and see all the beautiful colors in the canyon.
Our chickens are giving us eggs (finally), its like Christmas every day.
Joe gave us a rocking tour around Denver over Labor day. Pictures coming soon.
We've lived in our house for a year already! Boy how times flies when you're having fun.
We are blessed.

Grandma Durnford

(may 2010)

My sweet Grandma was reunited with my grandpa & her family yesterday morning. I will miss her, but am also so happy for her. I can't help but think that she is having a sweet reunion with those that have gone before her. I can just see my Grandpa already joking with her!

She was kind, cute, sassy (she has RED hair), thoughtful, caring, loving, a great cook, a great dresser & could party.

For years Grandma has been giving us things to remember her by, those things mean more to me today than they did yesterday. I am so grateful for everything she did for me. I will never forget any of them.

Just a few months ago she was able to come to our home for Thanksgiving & out of the blue she told me she was going to go and buy designer jeans...how cool is that?! I am SO grateful she was able to spend her last Thanksgiving in my home.

No matter what we were having for dinner when she would come over for my birthday Grandma would make me my favorite salad...Macaroni salad. She said that you can only use Best Food's mayo...that's why it is so good & that it is always made with love!

I love that we have another Angel watching over us.

We love you Grandma....until we meet again

I Love the South

Better late then never right! I have SO many pictures** to post its a bit overwhelming!
I had the BEST time in Raleigh & Charleston! Side note, I love to travel. I love sitting next to someone & finding out their life story in as little as an hour or as much as 8+ hours. On my flight out to NC I met a really nice doctor lady. I got to share a little about the gospel with her...you just never know!! Devry, Quinn & Asher & Melanie & Ben were the BEST hosts!!! Highlights from the trip include:
  • Our trip to the farmers market: We had a great lunch of fresh (well mostly fried) veggies! & the best hush puppies here! It was fun to just walk around & wish that we could take one of everything home! I did manage to buy some muscadine grape jam & some homemade soaps!
  • Lucky 32: Some good southern food! We went here & celebrated Devry & Quinn's 4th wedding anniversary. I mean... I was with them on their wedding day so naturally I would be with them on their 4th anniversary!
  • Hush Puppies, Hush Puppies & More Hush Puppies: Dude....I am SO glad we don't have hush puppies here! If we do, please don't tell me where to get them....this could be TROUBLE!
  • My love affair with Asher: I love this little boy & I'm not going to lie...he loved me too! It was so fun to get to know him! And see Devry & Quinn in all their parent glory! They are great parents!
  • Banana Pudding: Yummy! I need to learn how to make this :)
  • Magnolia Plantation: Gorgeous! I fell in love with Magnolia's trees! I really, really want one! Luckily my in laws have one in their front yard. The gardens were immaculate & the bridge was beautiful. We saw an aligator just chilling in the water! They had some super cool antiques in the "hunting cabin" that I wouldn't mind having in my home.
  • Bowen's Island Restaurant: What a fun atmosphere! It's literally a shack in the middle of nowhere on the water! You walk up, order, wait like one + hours for your food (that is delish) and watch dolphins swim by! Thanks Mel & Ben for taking us!!!
  • Carriage Ride around Charleston: Oh my! Charleston in BEAUTIFUL! I don't think that words or pictures can describe this amazing city. It has 100's of churches. Churches of all faith's on every corner. Old churches, beautiful churches, sacred churches. Oh, & the gates, the gates were amazing to me! Everyone has a beautiful gate! The homes are just as amazing! Gorgeous....like I would have bought one that day...if I had only have $2MM in my pocket. I'm telling you peeps...you must go! And the porches that these folks have to relax on are just simply amazing. If you ever have the chance to go....do it!
  • Charleston Market: Total tourist trap but that's what I loved about it! You want to buy just about everything you see! So I did!!! So fun!
  • Spending much needed time with my bestie: It was so nice having girl time with Devry (& Asher) and just catching it up! It was so fun to finally see where she & Quinn live & how the live life in the South! Love you Devry!!
  • Spending much needed time with my sissy: I loved being the first..ha ha..in my family to see where Melanie lives. Oh, & the first to see her ring :) She has a cute house with an amazing yard! And a cat that brings you treats :) We had a great time just chatting on her porch & enjoying the warm weather! I love you Mel!
  • Stepping into the Atlantic Ocean...it was SO warm: Oh, this was so fun for me! I seriously felt like a little girl stepping in the ocean for the first time :) The Atlantic Ocean is so much warmer then the pacific! I can't wait to go back & spend more time their!
  • Myrtle Beach, SC & Wilmington NC....we had NO idea there could be SO many mini golf courses in on place :): No seriously, you know how Utah has Mormon churches on every corner well Myrtle Beach honestly has mini golf courses on every corner w/dyed water! No joke! In Wilmington we stopped & a battle ship & then went to the beach! Again...loved it! I loved that all my Nicholas Sparks visions were coming true! On the way home there was an exit for Bern, NC...I was like....I know that place! Well you do to if you read Nicholas Sparks!!
  • Shopping: I found some great stuff in NC....why is it so much easier to buy stuff with your girlfriends?

It seriously was an amazing trip! I was gone for a week & towards the end I really started to miss Jordan! I can't wait until he can go back with me. He will love it! I also can't wait for our next girls trips to Dallas & Savannah, GA! Thanks Devry & Melanie for being the very best friend & sister a girl could ask for! Love you both!!!

**We all know I am a bit of a turtle when it comes to posting photos so for instant gratification go here & here!

Surprise visitors.........

Our dear, dear family friends lost their sweet Grandpa on Tuesday. My family was very saddened by the loss of Grandpa Monte. We just spent Christmas with the Cool man (see below)!! He just asked my when I was going to have a baby and he told me all about how he and grandma Alice used to live in *RP back in the day! We all played big bootie together...we couldn't believe he left so soon. Hold your loved ones tight! You never know when its your time.

Funerals are always bitter-sweet. They always seem to have lots of crys and lots of laughs. Along with funerals always come unexpected family reunions!

Well on Friday night Stef told me that she wanted to come to the funeral but didn't want to drive by herself. Saturday morning I called to see if she was coming & Hillary told me that she was trying to get off work. She later called me to tell me that her work didn't let her off. I was bummed but went about cleaning my house (thank goodness). Jordan came home later and we went to Costco. While we were shopping we Jordan said something to me that made me think that indeed my sisters were coming but opted to keep it a surprise. Well I am horrible at surprises! I phone stocked them ALL night! They said there were so annoyed because they had to keep lying! :) Well finally at about midnight I fell asleep on the couch. Jordan took me into bed & then I decided to read for a bit, well not even two minutes into my reading Hillary came running in! I was so excited! We were up until about 1:30 am hanging out! Sunday we went to church then up to Park City to check out all the peeps @ Sundance Film Festival (always a treat) then we went to dinner & to our good friends Jonathan's condo. Monday Stef, Hillary & I went to Grandpa Monte's funeral. Jordan being the # 1 uncle that he is stayed home & watched Landon & Avie! Let me tell you...Jordan is seriously AMAZING! He gave the kids a bath, took them to the park to play, then to the aviary to see the birds, back to the park to play, then to McDonald's for a happy meal then home to take a nap! Landon said this to me later that night:

Landon: You know what Kim?

Kim: What?

Landon: I love Jordan!

Kim: You should go tell him
Landon: with a HUGE smile on his face..went off running to find uncle Jordan & tell him that he loves him! It was soooooooooooo sweet!!!!

When we got home from the funeral we took a nap with the kids & jordan! We all slept for 3 hours! It was so nice!!!! I loved having my sisters here for a short weekend!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy the pics from the weekend!!!

How cute is the hat Stef just bought Avie...she loved it!!

I adore this photo! Jordan is such a sucker for sweet Avie & Avie loves uncle ju ju just as much! Its so fun to watch them together!!

What is a trip to Park City without a trip to the Jave Cow...its become a tradition of sorts.... Landon loved the cow!
