Oquirrh Temple Dedication

Today I had the privilege of attending the Oquirrh Dedication. I really enjoyed every minute of it. Michael & I got there 1/2 hour early. We got to sit & enjoy the music & video of the temple. As the music played & the pictures of the temple were on the screen my heart swelled. I am so grateful for the temple. I am grateful for the gospel in my life. I am grateful that I was able to be there with Bubba & could answer his questions. I especially loved the sweet spirit that was in the room as we joined together as a congregation to sing the Spirit of God. It was such a sweet reminder to me about how important temple work really is & how I love the feeling when I am there.

Two Sundays ago started out as an ordinary Sunday. Rushing to get ready to make it on time. Attended class then it was onto sacrament meeting. Who would have known that there were TWO missionary farewells that day. The chapel was filled to the stage of family & friends of these two missionaries. After the sacrament was passed more people came into sit down. As I looked up I saw Elder Holland. We tried to sneak into the back but the bishop came & got him to sit on the stand. After listening to the two missionaries AMAZING testimonies we were able to hear from Elder Holland. He shared his testimony with us about missions. He said that if anyone in the congregation was thinking of going on a mission to not come & talk to him. With Elder Holland it isn't an option to sever a mission. He said he is NOT neutral. After the meeting Bubba waited in line to shake his hand. ( I didn't because there was like 500 people there) When Bubba walked up to him, Elder Holland said "I think that we will be seeing you up here soon. You have missionary written all over you". And he does, let me tell you! That's another post. Bubba aka Michael is such an amazing kid. He only has a year and a half until he leaves on his mission & I tell Jordan all the time how sad I will be when he is gone.

Having Elder Holland there brought such an amazing spirit to our ward. I wish that every Sunday could be like the last two Sundays that I have had. I love having my "cup filled". I really crave more spiritual experiences like this. I hope that I can continue to be worthy to fill the spirit. It really is an amazing feeling. I wish that everyone could feel it.

Summer Lovin....It happen's SO fast....

.....but let me tell you, we are having a BLAST!!! June came & went SO fast! We moved out of the B's home....it was bittersweet....exciting to start something new, but so sad to leave such an amazing home. We were very excited to see the B's again though. Luckily Jordan's parents welcomed us with open arms into their home while we STILL looking to buy a home. Bubba has been SO kind to share a bathroom with a me ( a girl), I think it was a bit of an adjustment for him but I think that he is a CHAMP! We are SOOO grateful to the Peine's for letting us crash. Other than that, really it rained all of June...not much outside activity was to be had.

Thankfully July came quickly & we were able to go to California to hang out with my family. We flew down to Long Beach on the 4th of July we had a great breakfast with Suzy then we drove up to the desert where we had a fun pool party, BBQ & fireworks with all of our favorite desert peeps (you know who you are)!!! We spent the next couple of days lounging around in the pool w/friends, watching movies. I saw My sister's keeper with Stef & the E girls Mom & Nan...WOW...we all cried from start to finish. I was so glad that I was able to see that movie with all of my sisters!! We also got to go to Steve's new Vet hospital. It is so nice. We even got to watch a surgery. I LOVED that!! Sometimes I wonder why I am not a nurse!? Thanks Steve for the tour we can't wait to come visit again! Then we headed down to Newport Beach! Oh it was just lovely!!! My parent's rented a Marriott condo & we swam in the pool & ocean for 4 days straight! We bought some boogie boards & you would have thought that Jordan was 10 years old out there in the ocean, he was in heaven. It was SO fun to watch him relax & just have FUN! It was so great to be my family. Thanks Mom & Dad!! Unfortunately we had to get back to real life & fly home :(

The rest of July has been just as fun! Some highlights include:

  • Camping
  • Fishing
  • Rodeo
  • Spoon Me
  • Friends
  • Golfing
  • Lots of late night walks w/the fam
  • Ruth's diner w/the sister's
  • The Fray concert
  • And just being together
Don't worry- August is going to bring as much excitement as well! On the Agenda: Camping, Swimming, Playing w/the Ward family when they come up here next week, buying a house & whatever else comes our way!

We also have some great trips on the books for September & October! I won't lie....this year has been full of blessings & excitement! It has been quite a FANTASTIC year if you ask us. We LoVe our life!!!!
