Anderson August- Our lucky # 7

Andeson August (Anders for short) joined our family on:

October 7 (our 7th wedding anniversary) at 2:07 PM, weighed 7.9 lbs, 21 inches long and I pushed for 7 minutes. He was and is perfect. I feel so blessed. My heart could burst daily!

On Friday the 4th I went to the doctor and had higher blood pressure than normal. They ran blood work and a 24 hour test ( I had to collect my pee! Classy) On Monday, my actual due date, they induced me. I was terrified to say the least! I have heard of so many woman being induced and having emergency c-sections after pushing for hours! Spare me! Luckily that was not my case.

Sunday night I got a phone call from the hospital telling me that they would call me anytime between 5-8 AM on Monday telling me when to come in. I debated setting an alarm to get up and get ready before 5 but then quickly threw that idea out the window. I went to bed and waited for the call. I woke up at like 5:15 AM no call so I went back to sleep. Then I woke up at 7:15 AM to a missed call and VM from the hospital saying come in.....they called at 6:15 and I missed it! Well I forgot that I put a do not disturb on my phone from like 12AM-7AM unless it is someone from my favorites list calling! Anyway, I called the hospital, quickly got ready and we were out the door.

Once we got to the hospital I had a nice little chat with the nurses about my fears. They calmed them and I was hooked up by about 8:30. They started pitocin around 9 and by 11 I had my epidural. Shortly after 11 Hillary and Megan came to keep me company! They came with treats and magazines and it was perfect. It made the time go by really fast!

I kept telling the nurses that I was feeling a ton a pressure (this went on for like an hour) she said are you telling me at the peak of the pressure.....yes. She then told me to up my epidural...which I did twice! Dr. Ponder came to check on me and I was a 9 1/2. She said she was going to go upstairs for an appointment and then would be back down and we should be ready. Not even 5 min later she came back into the room and said she had checked my monitor and I was ready to go! Me, Megan & Hillary all may have started crying when she said I was ready to push. I pushed for 7 min and out came our sweet Anderson. He was darling and we fell instantly in love! I have to mention Jordan. He was a great support! He is always so loving and sweet while I am bringing our babies into the world..
